Mark43 Presence Grows in the Lone Star State

Mark43, the leading cloud-based public safety software, with over 70 clients nationwide, continues to build momentum in the state of Texas. Over the past six months, Mark43 has established a presence in the state by launching three new customers on the platform, and kicking off implementation in Texas’s second-largest city. Additionally, Mark43 was recently added to the Texas Department of Public Safety UCR NIBRS Certified Vendors list, ensuring that the momentum will continue.

NEW TEXAS AGENCIES AND SUCCESSFUL LAUNCHES

In just the last six months Mark43 has launched three Texas agencies on our software: the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Addison Police Department, and Carrollton Police Department.  The Walker County Sheriff’s Office and Addison Police Department went live on Mark43 RMS in fall of 2019, followed by the Carrollton Police Department in the first weeks of 2020. Together these three agencies account for approximately 300 sworn users in the state. 

The recently-launched Carrollton PD signed on for an RMS implementation just one year prior to going live, and agreed to serve as a pilot agency to assist with the design of mobile applications, digital evidence management, and other future Mark43 products.¹ In addition to the standard benefits included in every Mark43 contract such as 24/7/365 technical support, the strong agency-provider relationship will include regular site visits and iterative feedback sessions, as well as an opportunity for Carrollton PD to showcase these new developments in practice to Mark43’s customer agencies at industry conferences and other events.

In December 2019, Mark43 began an RMS implementation with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), which at 2.447 sworn, will be our largest customer in the state, and fourth major city implementation in the United States (Mark43 is already live in the Washington, DC, Seattle, and Boston Police Departments).² SAPD selected Mark43 following a competitive RFP process that included seven other potential vendors.

As with Mark43’s Boston implementation, SAPD plans to go live on Mark43 RMS in less than 12 months from contract signing.

NATIONAL INCIDENT-BASED REPORTING SYSTEM CERTIFIED VENDOR 

Furthering our momentum in the state, in December 2019, Mark43 earned a spot on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Certified Vendors list with our seamlessly compliant RMS.³ As per NIBRS Certification Procedures, agencies with unapproved vendors must submit three consecutive months of data with a 4% or less error rate. Mark43’s cloud-based RMS has far outperformed the base requirement, enabling a 0% error rate for three consecutive months.

With round-the-clock customer support for onboarding, transitions, and implementation, Mark43 is dedicated to preparing customers for the 2021 NIBRS deadline that the FBI announced in June 2016. The team built an interactive data reporting workspace within Mark43 RMS that has helped to remove common pain points from records staff workflows. Workspace features include code mapping, interactive error results, real-time summary statistics, multiple export formats, and history archive exports. 

In developing the NIBRS workspace, Mark43 partnered with SEARCH-NCJIS, a non-profit which hosts the FBI’s official GitHub repository for cost-effective NIBRS participation. Mark43 is both the only vendor partner of SEARCH and the sole RMS vendor contributing open source code to the repository. Its technology, hosted on AWS GovCloud, is also compliant with the Service Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) and allows agencies to maintain CJIS compliance.

Overall,  with continued expansion into multiple agencies of varying sizes and acceptance onto the Texas NIBRS Certified Vendor list, we expect Mark43’s momentum in the Lone Star State to keep pace well through the new year.
