Mark43 Interns Fight Crime with Code (and Design!)

After months of interviewing dozens of college students, we’re excited to welcome four engineering and two design interns to the Mark43 team this summer. With tech backgrounds ranging from online adventure games to motorbikes to data security, this talented group is sure to bring new ideas to the rest of the team.

Each intern has been assigned an eleven week project that actively contributes to our core software applications, Mark43 RMS and Mark43 CAD. Since the intern program kicked off a few weeks ago, our engineering interns are already making upgrades to our AVL map, building new collaboration tools for report writing, and enhancing platform-wide search capabilities. Only a few desks away, our design interns are rethinking critical workflows for 911 dispatchers and patrol officers in order to increase efficiency during emergency response.

Every intern project requires collaboration with product managers, designers, as well as backend and frontend engineers. Our interns will be building and designing solutions that will improve the lives of police officers and the communities they serve — and their genuine connection to this mission is what brought them to Mark43.
