Strategic Pursuit Architect

Strategic Pursuits Architect
Overview
The Strategic Pursuits Architect operates at the intersection of pre-sales, technical architecture, and market development to drive revenue growth through non-traditional sales motions. This role focuses on presenting and validating future Mark43 products before they exist, securing customer commitments that inform product roadmap decisions, and architecting statewide solutions that benefit entire markets rather than individual customers.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sale Strategy & Product Validation
- Present conceptual products and solutions to prospective customers before development begins
- Conduct discovery conversations that validate market demand and product-market fit
- Secure letters of intent, pilot agreements, or revenue commitments for future products
- Translate customer feedback and buying signals into actionable product intelligence
- Partner with Product teams to prioritize roadmap based on validated market demand
Solution Architecture Statewide
- Design and articulate solutions that serve entire states or regions rather than individual agencies
- Develop value propositions that emphasize network effects and cross-jurisdictional benefits
- Map out implementation approaches for complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Identify and navigate political, technical, and organizational challenges in statewide rollouts
Technical Product Configuration
- Demonstrate deep understanding of Mark43's product suite and configuration capabilities
- Create proof-of-concept configurations to demonstrate viability to prospects
- Scope technical requirements and implementation complexity for proposed solutions
- Collaborate with Solutions Architects and Sales Engineers while maintaining distinct focus on strategic, early-stage opportunities
Market Development & Relationship Building
- Build relationships with state-level decision makers and influencers
- Educate markets on emerging capabilities and strategic product direction
- Identify whitespace opportunities where Mark43 can create new market categories
- Represent Mark43 at industry events, working groups, and strategic forums
Sales & Implementation Coordination
- Bridge the gap between sales conversations and product implementation
- Coordinate handoffs to implementation teams once products move from concept to reality
- Maintain continuity with customers throughout the pre-sale to delivery lifecycle
- Support sales teams on complex strategic deals requiring deep product and market expertise
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in SaaS sales, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or related field
- Strong technical aptitude with ability to understand and articulate complex product architectures
- Proven ability to conduct consultative discovery and translate customer needs into solutions
- Experience selling to government, public safety, or similarly complex stakeholder environments
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present to C-level and executive audiences
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and selling products that don't yet fully exist
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mark43 products or public safety technology solutions
- Background in solution architecture or technical pre-sales roles
- Track record of successfully selling multi-stakeholder, consortium, or statewide solutions
- Understanding of government procurement processes and sales cycles
- Experience influencing product roadmap decisions based on market feedback
Success Metrics
- Revenue commitments secured for future/emerging products
- Number of validated product concepts moved into active development
- Pipeline generated for statewide and strategic opportunities
- Customer satisfaction scores for consultative engagement quality
- Speed and quality of handoffs from pursuit to implementation
