By: Bella Dardano

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is getting a tech upgrade.

According to a news release, the NOPD is partnering with Mark43 to upgrade its Records Management System.

The release states the upgrade will include a modern, cloud-based system that will allow the department to reduce paperwork, improve crime data collection, enhance investigative capabilities and ensure resiliency and security.

The NOPD is joining the Louisiana State Police in implementing the Mark43 Public Safety Platform.

“The new system will not only save officers valuable time currently spent on paperwork, but also equip them with better tools for investigation and collaboration with federal partners,” said NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.

The new system will also allow officers to complete reports in the field, comply with the National Incident Based Reporting System and integrate with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
