Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the country in which the role is being hired. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Mark43’s mission is to empower communities and their governments with technology that improves safety and quality of life. We build powerful, scalable, and elegant software that sets a new standard for the tools first responders rely on every day. Our customers and end users are diverse, and we are deeply committed to building teams that reflect a wide range of perspectives, experiences, and ways of thinking.
We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our Sales team and play a critical role in bringing Mark43’s platform to public safety agencies across the UK and beyond. This role sits at the centre of our go-to-market efforts and works closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to ensure customers clearly understand how Mark43 meets their technical and operational needs.
Due to the nature of our customers, this role requires NPPV3 (Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) + SC clearance. Mark43 will sponsor and support the vetting process for successful candidates.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will build trusted relationships with prospective and existing customers, translate complex requirements into clear technical solutions, and help guide agencies through the procurement and evaluation process with confidence.
What You’ll Do
If you were part of our team, here are some things you would have done last week:
- Collaborated with Account Executives and SDRs to prepare for and deliver technical product demonstrations for prospective public safety customers
- Led technical discovery sessions to understand customer environments, integrations, and constraints, and documented requirements clearly for internal teams
- Contributed to tender and proposal responses by addressing technical questions and aligning Mark43’s capabilities to public sector requirements
- Worked closely with Product and Engineering to understand the product roadmap and communicate upcoming capabilities to customers
- Supported deployment and technical services teams by ensuring accurate requirements handoff and helping mitigate technical concerns during onboarding
- Balanced strategic customer conversations with the necessary detail work that keeps demos, proposals, and documentation accurate and effective
What You’ll Need
We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer with significant experience supporting enterprise or public sector software sales. This level of experience is important because the role requires independent customer engagement, technical credibility, and the ability to navigate complex procurement and stakeholder environments.
- Several years of experience in enterprise software, solutions engineering, or technical pre-sales roles
- Experience working with government or public safety organisations, ideally within policing, fire, or emergency services environments
- Familiarity with UK public sector procurement processes, including tenders and frameworks, and responding to technical questions within bid documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Confidence running structured, in-depth product demonstrations tailored to different stakeholder needs
- A solid understanding of the software product lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing support
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Eligibility for NPPV3 clearance, with the ability to successfully complete the vetting process (sponsored by Mark43)
People Who Thrive at Mark43
People who are successful on our team often share a few common traits:
- Humble, open, and curious, and comfortable learning alongside customers and teammates
- Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with the ability to bring together diverse stakeholders
- Self-motivated and organised, able to manage priorities independently in a remote environment
- Mission-driven, with a genuine interest in improving outcomes for public safety agencies and the communities they serve
Location and Travel
This is a UK-based remote role, with the option to work from our Manchester office if preferred. Travel is expected for customer meetings, demonstrations, and key internal events, primarily within the UK and occasionally internationally.
